The Leibniz Institute for Psychology Information (ZPID) in Trier (Germany) is an internationally renowned research support organization in psychology and a member of the prestigious Leibniz Association.

To fulfil the ever-increasing research infrastructure needs expressed by researchers and psychology professionals, ZPID is in the process of strategic expansion directed at meeting these needs to become psychology’s one-stop research service center. Current as well as future ZPID research areas and services are based on and guided by the values of open science and open innovation.

Team Leader (m/f) Study design and data collection services

(salary group TV-L E14, 100%, initially limited to 4 years)


Preferred start date is January 1, 2018, or later.


Duties and functions:

- Building, operating and further developing research services for preparing, pre-registering, conducting, and analyzing psychological studies (in collaboration with existing ZPID units and IT support):

  • The pre-registering service involves a to-be established PsychOpen journal entitled ´Registered Reports in Psychology´
  • Data collection services involve the operation of a combined online/offline lab (based on study cohorts / research panel members)
  • Preparing and analyzing studies involves developing a Jupyter-based notebook infrastructure for Psychology

- Publishing in academic journals and presenting at national and international conferences

- Preparing research proposals and funding applications


Your profile:

  • PhD or master-level degree in Psychology, or in a related area with a strong focus on research methods / statistics
  • Experience in R and at least in one additional programming language for statistical computing (e.g. Python, Julia, Stata).
  • Excellent German and English skills (spoken and written)
  • Distinct communication, presentation, and team leadership skills
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and independent working style
  • Advantageous are proven experience in operating data collection infrastructures, and publications in academic journals
